My shell is a member of the genus Lambis (Spider Conchs) of the family Strombidae. They are found almost exclusively in the Indo-Pacific region, mostly in the Philippines. The shell's unique appearance can become even rarer in some cases due to the species' ability to hybridize.

I find this shell interesting, yet challenging to draw. It requires the use of different techniques due to the varying texture across its body. On one side, the shell requires a close eye and attention to detail, and the proportions of its limbs are not forgiving if drawn sloppily. The other side's smooth surface requires the artist to describe it with a much more subtle technique and attention to the form for guidance instead of the clear texture.
